About Rayleigh Vineyard

How it all started

We began in June 2003, with a handful of people. We believe God has asked us to plant a growing church based on the Bible, in a contemporary (modern) style, where we worship God and communicate what Jesus talked about in a friendly manner (ie, with compassion, mercy, fun...and lots of chocolate!)

Its our aim to train, equip and help people like you to be effective in their lives, both their personal lives and their lives within Rayleigh Vineyard. To enjoy a better quality of life through what Jesus has taught us.

We also try and support and encourage the other churches in Rayleigh and certainly feel that in our short life as a new church that they have encouraged us.

We are an off-shoot (satellite) church from Southend Vineyard. Dave worked on staff at Southend Vineyard as assistant pastor, before Rayleigh Vineyard began. He now works full time for the church. Laura also worked at Southend Vineyard as Kids Pastor, before going to work as an art teacher in a local grammar school. We have been married for 5years and have a 2year old son.

Rayleigh Vineyard is a group of ordinary people who are trying to find out more. We meet together on a friendly informal weekly basis to attempt to enjoy God and find out more about him.

We aren’t pushy or in your face, just curious to find out about God and life and the way it all ticks (or is supposed to!)

Life
We look at the Bible and see what it's got to say about life, the universe and us. We ask God (through prayer) to help us and each other through life's (little!) trials … and we eat lots of chocolate!

If you'd like to find out more, we meet on Sundays @ 10.30am, at Downhall Primary School, Brooklyn Drive, Rayleigh (see map), and we also have midweek events, like House Groups and Socials and Prayer Meetings.
